Terms & conditions
Last updated 1 November 2026
These are the rules for using OffSwitch. They're written to be read, not to hide behind.
What OffSwitch is
OffSwitch is a free guide that helps you spot subscriptions you may no longer need and shows you features your phone, TV, laptop or gym already gives you. It gives you information and ready-made wording to cancel with. It is not financial advice, and it isn't a cancellation service.
Prices and savings figures
The prices we show are typical UK monthly prices at the time we checked them, and they change often. Annual figures are the monthly price multiplied by twelve, rounded to the penny. What you actually pay can differ because of a deal, a bundle, an app store price or a rise we haven't seen yet.
Savings are what you could save if you cancel, not money we've moved for you. Check the price on your own bill before you rely on the figure.
You cancel, not us
You cancel directly with the company, using the link or phone script we give you. We are not your agent and we don't act on your behalf. We can't confirm that a cancellation went through, and we can't chase a company for you.
Your agreement with the company
Your subscription is a contract between you and that company, and their terms decide what happens when you leave. Before you cancel, check what you'd lose: family sharing, a download library, saved playlists, an ad-free tier, equipment you rent, or a minimum term with an early exit fee. We point these out where we know about them, but the company's terms are the ones that count.
Free trials and reminders
Reminders you add are stored on your device only. We don't email or text you, because we never ask for your address or number. If you clear your browser data, or change device, your reminders go with it. Please don't rely on OffSwitch alone to beat a trial deadline.
Links to other websites
We link to company cancellation pages, app store subscription settings and support pages. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what they say or do. A link isn't a recommendation of everything on the other end of it.
What it costs
OffSwitch is free to use. There is no subscription, no card and nothing to cancel with us. If that ever changes, the price and what you get will be shown clearly before you agree to anything.
Using the app fairly
Use OffSwitch for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy the guides and sell them, or attempt to break, overload or interfere with the app.
Liability
We work hard to keep the guidance accurate, but the app is provided as it is, without promises that every price, link or cancellation route is current. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from decisions you make using the app, or from a company's own processes.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be heard by the courts there. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of the law where you live.
Getting in touch
If anything here is unclear, or you'd like to tell us about a price or link that's out of date, send us an email. It's the same inbox for privacy questions.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top of this page tells you when they were last revised, and continuing to use OffSwitch means the current version applies.
Read our privacy policy.
